39. Where can I find documentation for this theme?

1. Documentations

All Qode themes contain documentation files when you download them, but some of them also contain online documentation, and below you will find list of manuals for Qode themes for which they exist:

Bridge - http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/
Strata - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/strata-help/
Elision - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/elision-help/
River - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/river-help/
Subway - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/subway-help/
Satellite7 - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/satellite-help/
Stardust - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/stardust-help/
Infographer - http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/infographer-help/

2. How to upgrade Infographer theme?

If you are using FileZilla, please read this before you copy files:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/554960/how-can-i-stop-filezilla-changing-my-linebreaks

You can upgrade our theme by performing following steps:

1. Download latest theme main file from ThemeForest

2. Extract it and locate infographer.zip

3. Extract infographer.zip and locate infographer folder

4. Copy/Replace the content of infographer folder to /wp-content/themes/infographer folder of your web site.

Using this method, none of existing content or settings will be lost.

3. How to enable Visual Composer front page editor?

Front End VC editor is disabled by default because some theme elements use advanced java script functionality, and these elements will not be displayed correctly until you save and refresh the page after adding them.

In order to enable front end VC editor, edit theme folder / extendvc / extend-vc.php file, and delete or comment out following lines:

if(function_exists('vc_disable_frontend')){
    vc_disable_frontend();
}

4. Why elements animations aren't working on my site?

Unfortunately, Visual Composer's animations doesn't work with our page transitions because we can't initialize them on page transition event. You can use animations that we implemented for row element. This is how you should set animations on row element:

http://screencast.com/t/PqC1bIB2NN

5. Google Map Api Key Missing Error / Google Map Missing Error

This error is caused by some recent changes in google map API. Here is what you can try.

1. You need to create your own API key as described here: https://www.latecnosfera.com/2016/06/google-maps-api-error-missing-keymap-error-solved.html

2. Then you need to go to Qode Options -> General and add it to the Api Key field

And then you need to add the page(s) to the list of allowed referrers.

You can check this link also how to do this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35288250/google-maps-javascript-api-referernotallowedmaperror

Also see API keys in the Google API Console - https://console.developers.google.com/project/_/apiui/credential . For more information, see Best practices for securely using API keys - https://support.google.com/cloud/answer/6310037 .

Also try going to Developer Console -> APIs & auth -> APIs

Search for Geocoding and click on Google Maps Geocoding API -> Enable API. Do the same thing for Geolocating.

6. Missing style sheet error when installing the theme?

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly.

Luckily, there is a very easy fix for this issue https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821510?_ga=1.12521394.74287877.1471284950

7. Build multilingual WordPress websites using Bridge theme and WPML

Here you could find tutorial how to build multi language site using our Bridge theme and WPML plugin https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/build-multilingual-wordpress-websites-using-bridge-theme-and-wpml/

8. T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM Fatal Error

That is usually an error related to your PHP version on the server. Try contacting your hosting provider and ask them to increase your PHP version to the one suggested by wordpress here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

For this error, PHP version 5.3 would be enough to work well.

9. Why is my header not transparent?

There are two ways to make your header transparent, this means that the content of the page will go underneath the header, and behave like some sort of a header background like in the following example http://demo.qodeinteractive.com/bridge/

This option can be set generally, inside the Qode Options/Header by setting the header background color to any, and afterwords setting the transparency to 0 http://screencast.com/t/wLcmijDB7iMq and also on each individual page, under the Qode Header section http://screencast.com/t/xyaByZ8P8

10. How to remove purchase theme bar at the bottom of several pages?

Hi,

this is custom widget area that can be disabled in Qode Options -> Content Bottom Area. Please take a look at the screenshot:

 http://screencast.com/t/alIEUfM2

Best Regards

Qode

11. Where can I find the activation keys for the plugins that came with the theme?

We have bought extended licenses for premium plugins that come with our theme, so you can use them for free, and we can’t give you the license codees because of policy and terms of Theme Forest. This only means that you can not update the plugins automatically, and you need to wait for the update which will be included in latest theme updates, as soon as the new version of plugins becomes available. You can read more about bundled plugins in the following Envato article https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/213762463-Bundled-Plugins?_ga=2.245886596.1068361229.1494855372-1438803025.1429707923

12. Visual Composer no longer works. At the top it just says 'Please Wait..Loading'. What can I do?

This is a problem when some html editor field in some shortcode settings is left empty. What you should do is look what is last element that is showing on Visual Composer building layout and add text to that elements html editor field.

13. Page is not loading

This is probably because of conflict with our AJAX page transitions and some 3rd party plugin which you are using. Page transitions create nice effects when navigating through website. When transitions are turned on, header and footer are not reloaded, only content get reloaded. This can cause issues mostly with some plugins (or scripts) because they demand their scripts to be loaded in header or footer and they are not. If you happen to experience this later on while you are developing your site, note that first thing to do is to turn off page transitions.

Page transitions can be turned off from:

1. general options Qode Options > General

2. local options (when you edit your pages), note that these settings will overwrite global settings from Qode Options for specific page

3. Also you can turn off page transitions for specific pages by writing page URLs from Qode Options > General

14. Where can I find the purchase code for this theme?

You can find your purchase code on your profile's downloads page in download dropdown for our item.

15. HTTPS mixed content warnings

This issue can commonly occur when user sets SSL certificate on a website where it wasn't present and installation wasn't configured initially in that way. You could try using some SSL links fixer plugins like maybe following ones https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-https/ http://ithemes.com/codex/downloads/fix-ssl-non-ssl-links.zip but that doesn't guarantee fixing the issue. More proper way would be to remove images that are causing this problem and re-uploading them again. By using google chrome developer tools console you can find list of images that are causing this issue.

16. Remove p tags from text widgets in WordPress 4.8

This is because of WordPress wpautop function which is wrapping lines with paragraph tags, and now function is being executed in text widget because it is present be default in text editor, which is inducted in WordPress version 4.8. Solution to this is to remove all spaces inside text widgets, and if that doesn't work 100% or you don't want to go trough all theme widgets and to do this manually you can simply add following line of code inside theme folder / functions.php

remove_filter('widget_text_content', 'wpautop');

If you want  permanent modification for future updates you should add that line inside child theme folder / functions.php file.

17. How to import Slider revolution or Layer Slider?

When importing a demo onto your site RevSlider / LayerSlider slideshow has to be imported separately. To import a RevSlider / LayerSlider slideshow from one of our demos please go to your WordPress admin panel Slider Revolution / Layer Slider -> Import. Search for RevSlider / LayerSlider_Export_BridgeN.zip located in the file you downloaded from Theme Forest / xml export folder and import that demo’s slideshow.

N – corresponds to the demo number you imported

Finally, go to your page where the slider is supposed to display and set the valid slider shortcode ID and save.

18. My shop doesn't look like on theme demo?

You should disable default WooCommerce styles. Go to WooCommerce -> Settings and uncheck Enable WooCommerce CSS field. This applies to WooCommerce versions prior to 2.1.0.

19. Why is my demo not being imported?

When it comes to importing demo content, before you hit import, disable all 3rd party plugins (to free up server resources), then go to import, open chrome developer tools, hit Import, and watch console for errors. When some error occur refresh import page and repeat the process. Importing demo content must reach 100% without displaying error in the console. So repeat it until console is clear (sometimes you have to repeat process for 3-4 times or maybe more).

Please understand that this is common issue when importing demo with all theme authors since demos become more robust so they can satisfy needs of all customers, so issue is usually triggered by lower server resources. Usually it is due to low WordPress memory limit https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP and also due to low PHP directives, so it would be good if you can increase these values or ask your hosting service to do that for you:

max_execution_time = 300;

memory_limit = 128M;

upload_max_filesize = 64M;

post_max_size = 256M;

Helpful reading - http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/

Also check instructions regarding import in theme documentation http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/3-demo-content/3-1-qode-import/

If you continue to have problems with import, you can always submit a ticket to our support and they will try to import demo content for you. Just provide WordPress admin access in your ticket:

Website login URL
Admin Username
Admin Password

20. Where can I find the list of useful screenshot of demo admin panel?

You can find it here:

https://www.diigo.com/list/darconi/central

21. Icons Are Not Showing, Or Displaying Like Squares and Strange Characters

Please try to follow the instructions from this link in order to solve these errors:

http://meyermed.com/2015/03/fix-font-awesome-icons-not-displaying/

These instructions work for all browsers and icon packs.

Most of the users were able to solve this cross-origin problem with the solution from that article, but if that does not work for you, you will need to contact your server provider and ask them to fix cross-origin issue, as it is server oriented.

22. Why are my contact forms broken?

Your contact forms are not actually broken, the reason why you are not seeing them correctly is because you probably haven't installed and activated the Contact Form 7 plugin before importing the demo content. You should just install and activate the plugin, delete the menus that already have been imported from the Appearance/Menus, so that they wouldn't get duplicated, and import the demo content again.

23. Load More and Filter

This is happened because filter feature filtering only visible portfolio/blog items and if you use load more with filter combination then you will get this issue, because by default you have for example 10 visible items and if you click on some category inside filter you will get only items from that set of items (in this case 10) inside that category and you will get that issue. So you first need to click on load more then to filter again your items and you will get other items from that category.

Unfortunately there is no any fix for that to filter load all items from that category, because script which we are using for the filter is working in that way :(

So, only solutions are:

a) to set all items to be visible without Load More functionality, to do that just edit yoour portfolio list shortcode and find Number option and file -1 instead of 8 and save

b) to disable filter option

c) to increase number of portfolio items on your page so you can have more items for each category

24. Changing menu colors

To change menu text colors, navigate to Qode Options > Header > Header Skin and make sure that the Default header skin is enabled. Depending on your theme, you might either see "Default", or only a blank space, which is the same as "Default":

You will then be able to change the menu colors. Settings for this are in some themes located in Qode Options > Fonts and in others in Qode Options > Header.

If you have the Light header skin, the menu text will always be white, and your custom menu colors set in Qode Options will not take effect. Similarly, a Dark header will always have black menu text.

If your menu colors are still not taking effect, then check the setting on your page, under Qode Header, and make sure that it's set to Default as well. Page settings override settings in Qode Options.

25. General Data Protection Regulation

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect on May 25. The GDPR requires companies and site owners to be transparent about how they collect, use, and share personal data. It also gives individuals more access and choice when it comes to how their own personal data is collected, used, and shared.

You can learn more about the GDPR from the European Commission’s Data Protection page.

Site owners can now designate a privacy policy page. This page will be shown on your login and registration pages. You should manually add a link to your policy to every page on your website. If you have a footer menu, that’s a great place to include your privacy policy.

If you maintain a plugin that collects data, we recommend including that information in WordPress’ privacy policy guide. Learn more in our Privacy section of the Plugin Handbook.

Download WordPress 4.9.6 or venture over to Dashboard → Updates and click “Update Now.” Sites that support automatic background updates are already beginning to update automatically.

Please note that if you’re currently on WordPress 4.9.3, you should manually update your site immediately.

- We have added in our theme Options > Contact Page > Contact Form checkbox for acceptance

This will prompt the user to mark the box before proceeding.

https://www.screencast.com/t/efXQLF6bC

- There is also option to completely disable loading of google fonts https://www.screencast.com/t/C17DEU5HfUPZ

26. How to upgrade Central theme?

If you are using FileZilla, please read this before you copy files:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/554960/how-can-i-stop-filezilla-changing-my-linebreaks

You can upgrade our theme by performing following steps:

1. Download latest theme main file from ThemeForest

2. Extract it and locate central.zip

3. Extract central.zip and locate central folder

4. Copy/Replace the content of central folder to /wp-content/themes/central folder of your web site.

Using this method, none of existing content or settings will be lost.

27. Visual Composer - Backend Editor Error

If Visual Composer won't load in the back end when you try to edit some page, please first make sure that you are using latest theme version with latest Visual Composer. Please follow update instructions or video guide:

 http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-3-installing-the-bridge-theme/2-3-4-theme-update/

If this is not the case and you have following problems when accessing site or editing pages:

- Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED
- customlibEditGallery java script error in the console when you open developer tools in Google Chrome
- not found 404 page is displayed when editing pages

which was confirmed several times with GoDaddy hosting plans and also with few SiteGround hosting users, and problem is hosting related and it is due to mod_security check when some robust and feature rich themes from Theme Forest is used (SiteGround first encountered this with Avada theme).

SOLUTION IS SIMPLE:

Add following line to WordPress .htaccess file:

SubstituteMaxLineLength 10m

You can put this line at the end of the file, after the # END WordPress line:

28. Qode Slider overlap issue

This issue occurs with Google Chrome versions 55.x and we fixed it with Bridge theme version 10.1.1. So, in order to fix this on your side, please make sure that you are using latest theme version. You can update the theme by following instructions from the theme documentation http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-3-installing-the-bridge-theme/2-3-4-theme-update/ and don't forget to clear browser cache after the update.

In case that you don't want to update the theme for some reason, you can fix this by adding custom css code below from Qode options > General > Custom CSS field:

.full_width,
.container {
    position: relative !important;
}

29. Website Speed Optimization

Here are some general tips for speeding up your site that can improve scores on gtmetrix.

Please note that good portion of site speed is caused by the server itself, so end users should increase performance on their own, and make sure that they are using reliable hosting service providers with high resources, and with fast and secure servers.

1) You can check how to optimize your website here: https://gtmetrix.com/

2) Optimize your images with some tool: www.jpegmini.com/

3) Also you can install some plugin for cache, like WP Fastest Cache:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/ http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/

or premium one http://wp-rocket.me/

4) You can enable gzip compression on your server. You should paste this code to .htaccess file located in your folder:

mod_gzip_on Yes mod_gzip_dechunk Yes mod_gzip_item_include file .(html?|txt|css|js|php|pl)$ mod_gzip_item_include handler ^cgi-script$ mod_gzip_item_include mime ^text/.* mod_gzip_item_include mime ^application/x-javascript.* mod_gzip_item_exclude mime ^image/.* mod_gzip_item_exclude rspheader ^Content-Encoding:.*gzip.* http://www.feedthebot.com/pagespeed/enable-compression.html

5) Leverage browser caching: http://www.feedthebot.com/pagespeed/leverage-browser-caching.html

6) Use ate least PHP 5.6 or greater in order to process PHP code faster, and to fix older version bugs. Note that Wordpress is now recommending PHP 7.0 or greater https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

30. How To Add Custom Font

There are two ways for adding fonts

a) Go to your theme folder/functions.php and paste this code:

if (!function_exists('additional_font_styles')) {
    function additional_font_styles () {
        wp_enqueue_style('your_font_name', 'the_url');
    }
    add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'additional_font_styles');
}

Adjust the your_font_name to your preference and the url to the right URL path to the fonts' files. Next, with CSS code apply this font to any part of the website you might want with font-family property.

For example paste this code below into your admin Qode Options > General > Custom Code > Custom CSS field

body, h1{font-family: 'YourFont', sans-serif;}

This handles the API call to your webfont. We suggest that you do this in your child theme and its functions.php file in order to preserve this alterations upon theme update.

b) Paste this code into Custom CSS field:

@font-face {
    font-family: 'MyWebFont';
    src: url('webfont.eot');
    src: url('webfont.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
    url('webfont.woff2') format('woff2'),
    url('webfont.woff') format('woff'),
    url('webfont.ttf') format('truetype'),
    url('webfont.svg#svgFontName') format('svg');
 }

Just put absolute paths to your font files. Than use this code in CSS field

body, h1{font-family: 'YourFont', sans-serif;}

And style desired elements with appropriate fonts.

Or you could try Use Any Font plugin, some customers have suggested it but we haven't tested it ourselves.

Neither one way adds font to the list inside Qode Options but you will have to use it through custom css code.

31. http error 500 / Internal Server Error

Internal Server Error 500 is usually related to server settings as the name of the error suggests.

There could be several causes of this problem. First you should do is contact your hosting provider and ask them about this, and also ask them to check your error log, to see what does it say there?

Also, read this article http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/

And try the solutions from it, increasing your memory_limit parameter first, it could be low and that could be the cause of this.

And also, it is good if you can increase these values or ask your hosting service to do that for you.

max_execution_time = 300

memory_limit = 128M

upload_max_filesize = 128M

post_max_size = 256M

32. How to upgrade Satellite7 theme?

If you are using FileZilla, please read this before you copy files:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/554960/how-can-i-stop-filezilla-changing-my-linebreaks

You can upgrade our theme by performing following steps:

1. Download latest theme main file from ThemeForest

2. Extract it and locate satellite.zip

3. Extract satellite.zip and locate satellite folder

4. Copy/Replace the content of satellite folder to /wp-content/themes/satellite folder of your web site.

Using this method, none of existing content or settings will be lost.

33. Qode Slider Video on touch devices

Video background is not supported on vast majority of mobile devices (no video on mobile), so it is important to provide Video Preview Image for Qode Slider video slides (it will be shown on touch devices and when video is loading on PCs/laptops). Also it is important to provide all three (webm, mp4, ogv) video formats (fallback) since some browsers (PCs/laptops) can only play certain type of video. You can convert your videos online - http://video.online-convert.com/

More detailed explanation is provided within the theme documentation on this link http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/8-qode-slider/8-4-creating-a-slide-with-video-background/

34. Shortcodes Are Displayed In Excerpt

This happened because excerpt for blog list or portfolio list can't read shortcodes and because of that we implemented Excerpt field for each blog single, portfolio single page etc.

You just need to go in your back-end Posts -> Each post -> And below text editor or visual composer, you can find Excerpt field, just add here whatever you want to display for that post on blog list.

If you don't have this section, then just go to top right corner -> Screen Options -> And enable excerpt

35. Header style switching for each slide isn't working. What should I do?

You should enable header style switching for that slider. Please take a look at the screenshot:

http://screencast.com/t/6ozwVDyOye

36. Blurry Product Images

Check this article about setting the proper image sizes -

https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/using-the-appropriate-product-image-dimensions/

 Then install/activate this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and click to regenerate all images to apply new changes and you will fix this problem.

37. Warning: getimagesize

For the warning you’re seeing:

In your WP admin > Qode Options > Logo, make sure to upload your logo in all the fields there, instead of our default logos. That should resolve this.

if the warning is still on after it, you should then edit this file wp-content/themes/bridge/includes/shortcodes/shortcode-elements/slider.php, and you need to edit following part of code:

list($logo_width, $logo_height, $logo_type, $logo_attr) = getimagesize($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$logo_url_obj['path']);

http://screencast.com/t/qxOHdvT5Ddxq to look like this:

list($logo_width, $logo_height, $logo_type, $logo_attr) = getimagesize($qode_options_proya['logo_image']);

http://screencast.com/t/vjpUwGuITn. If you continue to have problems, please submit a ticket at https://qode.ticksy.com/ and we will gladly assist you.

38. "Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again”

What to do when I get this message while trying to install the theme: “Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again” ?

This message means that theme zip file is larger than max upload file size allowed in configuration of your server. Please either increase that limit or upload the theme via ftp (second method explained in our documentation).

39. Where can I find documentation for this theme?

Documentation is available in your download package that you got from ThemeForest.
