Updating bridge with cpanel?

Hi there, I want to update my wordpress to the latest version of Bridge but I am having trouble with it, or at least don't really understand how to do it; I'm very new to Wordpress.

Everything I've seen is rather vague about how to update, i've tried to use an FTP client but that didn't work for me as my administrator has forgotten the password so they simply left me in a rut to figure it out myself (How kind of them...)

I do have full access to our CPanel and I know that /wp-content/themes/Bridge is the location of the bridge folder in the file manager I just want to know about the correct way to Copy and replace if it's even possible through Cpanel and if it isn't possible to Copy/Replace what's the best course to resolve this

Sorry if this is a terrible explanation and Thank you in advance

    Hi there,

    thanks for choosing our theme!

You can find in our documentation how to install WordPress http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-2-installing-wordpress/ . After succesfull installation of WP you need to install our theme, and you can read how to do that here http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-3-installing-the-bridge-theme/ . If you have already install it, you can update theme with our latest version, and helpful reading about update is http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-3-installing-the-bridge-theme/2-3-4-theme-update/ .

If this doesn't help you, you can provide us with your wp admin and FTP credentials so we can do this for you. You will need to find out your FTP password so we can be able to do this for you.
You can read more about theme in our documentation http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/1-whats-in-the-box/ .

Regarding FTP access, if you don't know how to create FTP user with access to WP installation you can contact hosting support, and they will be able to help you with this or at least to provide you with some helpful article on how to do this.

If you need more help, just let us know.
    Thanks.

After you have updated WordPress to version 4.5 or higher, please make sure to also update your theme and the Visual Composer plugin to the latest versions. To update Visual Composer, after you update the theme to the latest version just uninstall Visual Composer and then a notification will appear at the top of your screen that a required plugin needs to be installed. Install Visual Composer via this notification and you will get the latest version. Please also make sure to clear your browser cache after you have updated Visual Composer

    Got it working!

Got another quick question, if are able to answer here?
I want to remove padding from the columns so that they are touching  one another and i simply haven't a clue how to adjust this I don't want to jump into the CSS as I know i will break the entire website is a matter of seconds!

And I'm loving Bridge, Learnt a lot about building websites and how to improve for future web design work

    Hi there,

when you are in page edit mode, for each column you have settings button, see https://www.screencast.com/t/9ZQMZBsk16of where you can edit margin of column, see https://www.screencast.com/t/x6YkNJW5t , so you need to add margin values to your element so make them one next to other without blank space.

Alternatively, if you want to add custom css code to column and not break entire website, you need to add extra class to that column for which you will apply your own custom css. On this way you will be sure that your css will be apply just on wanted column, see https://www.screencast.com/t/ODs99aSiKw .

If you need more help, just let us know.

    Thanks.
