I'm running right now:
WordPress 4.8.9 with Bridge 17.0Can I go with the upgrade to WP 5.2 and Bridge 18.0.x ?Thanks!
It is recommendable to use new wordpress with new theme version.
Since 18.0 was a major update, you should take additional steps.
First, please create a full site backup and update the theme to new version . You can update theme using some FTP client. Just follow these steps:
1. Download the latest theme .zip file from ThemeForest 2. Extract it and locate bridge.zip 3. Extract bridge.zip and locate the bridge folder 4. Copy/Replace the contents of the bridge folder to the /wp-content/themes/bridge folder of your web site
Also you can look our video tutorial on this link for manual update :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duvezfgPrLY
Bridge Core plugin is now required, it should be installed and activated. In the change log you can follow those steps for the successful update: http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/change-log/
So, please follow these:
– Install and Activate Bridge Core Plugin– Update all required plugins included with the Theme
Also, update Wordpress to the latest version (5.1.1) and all bundled plugins (Revolution slider, WPBakery, Layer slider).
Also check your PHP version, if you have older version, please contact your hosting provider service to update your PHP, It has to be at least 5.6
If you have envato toolkit plugin previously installed on your website, please note -this plugin is deprecated and there can be issues if you override files with update. and you have issues after update, please do the following: Login to your server via ftp , go to wp-content/themes/bridge/framework/modules/ and remove 'envato-wordpress-toolkit' folder.
If you are using child theme, please switch to parent theme before updating. Please note that we had to change function names in the latest update, according to Themeforest requests - therefore, your customization in the child theme does not work anymore, but this should be easy to fix. You just have to change function name prefixes from 'qode' to 'bridge_qode' in your child theme. Then switch to child theme and check your website.
If you still have issues after all these steps, send us your wp-admin login details and ftp access in private reply and we'll take a closer look.
